There is ample scientific evidence that proper nutrition and correct eating habits can enhance health, performance and longevity. We are starting to understand that the overprocessing and chemical additives which add color and texture can destroy much of the nutritional value of both people food and pet food.

The Chicken and Lamb Meal formula is manufactured under carefully controlled conditions and temperatures - resulting in better nutrition, palatability and digestibility for your pet. The secret to Flint River Ranch's great nutrition is how many nutrients are present in the cat's food and how efficiently they are utilized when digested. High digestibility means your pet requires less food and produces smaller, firmer stools and less clean-up.

HIGH QUALITY CAT FOOD

The Flint River Ranch cat food is extruded with the addition of a slight "baking" process to give it the crusty texture. Cat food is higher in price because there is more pure meat protein in cat food. Taurine level is not less than 0. 1 % - pH is below 6.4 - Magnesium is less than 0.095% - ash is less than 5.5% - all important to help prevent Feline Urological Syndrome. We feel that providing distilled or pure water in the cat's water dish is a must if you have a concern for your kitty.

PROTEIN: The amino acids provided by the Chicken and Lamb Meal are the basic building blocks of muscle, skin, coat, bone, blood and the immune system. The most important ingredient in a cat's diet is protein.

ESSENTIAL TAURINE: The high quality Chicken Meal provides Taurine, an essential amino acid for cats, at much higher levels than the poultry by-products used in most cat foods. It is important for eyes, heart, nervous and reproductive systems.

FATS: The Fat Source has no Ethoxyquin. It is naturally preserved with Vitamin E. Fats provide energy and include essentials for cell structure, hormones, enzymes and fat soluble vitamins.

FELINE UROLOGICAL SYNDROME: There is little doubt that F.U.S. is directly related to the cat's stress, life style and diet. Low Ash and Magnesium are important in the prevention of FUS. FLINT RIVER RANCH Feline Formula has less than 4.5% ash content and 0.08% of Magnesium. This promotes low urinary pH and helps prevent FUS.

Feline Feeding

Cats are finicky eaters. Our tests show that besides flavor and aroma, texture and shape are very important in determining cat food palatability. Cats first smell their food; if it passes this test, shape then becomes important because it determines the way it feels and breaks apart in the cat's mouth. Fresh water should be available at all times as your cat will drink more water when fed dry food.

Young kittens may be started on Flint River Ranch food by mixing with a little warm water. Feed food dry as soon as the kittens teeth are strong enough to chew hard food (8 to 10 weeks). Feed kittens about 3 times a day - after 6 months twice a day.

Adult cats (one year) can be fed once or twice a day; whatever keeps your cat happy. Your cat should be looking for food when the next meal is due. Teach them to eat at meal times. The amount your cat eats in 15-20 minutes is about the amount they should be fed at that meal. Adjust the food as you notice increase or decrease in the animal's weight.
